WISH to forget.
孟婆汤! this soup is so cool. it like.. makes you forget all the things that ever happened in your life so that you can cross the bridge and lead a fresh new life. no thoughts, no feelings, no predjudices, no likes/dislikes. a nice clean slate. cool, no? :D apparantly according to chinese legend, when you die, you go on this road. beside the road is a river and a bridge that leads across it. On that bridge, is an old woman, 孟婆, who sells 孟婆汤. it makes me wonder what 孟婆 is doing there.. why she has to sell this soup, why she is doing so.. it'd be so cool.. to be selling this sort of soup to any souls who have wandered down this path to the bridge. another thing that makes me curious about this soup is its ingredients. what could its ingredients be? is there a recipe for 孟婆汤?
haha this wasn't really anything.. just wondering what the 孟婆汤 might look like xD might it be just like any other soup like the first picture? or maybe, its invisible. like the emperor's new clothes. only certain people can see it. maybe people who are still alive can't see it? maybe all the bowls in the world are filled with it, causing people to be subjected to forgetfulness? another reason i put this picture here is because, instead of soup, clay can be used to make bowls better. how does the bowl that contains the 孟婆汤 look like? normal, humble and simple? or elaborate, elegant and engraved with all sorts of languages. heehee so interesting to try to make ^^

walking.
i think this is really pretty :D i wish it existed in real life T_T its supposed to be a stairway to heaven but i thought that maybe the 奈何桥 [hmm i always thought the 何 was the river he..] could look something like this :D a pretty pretty place that leads you back into life ^^ hmm.. only problem is that this is really more of a painting type thing.. not really a sculpture type thing.. OOH. maybe i could make the staircase wind around my tree in project one :D [oh no. how to make trees.] but i don't know if i can replicate the feeling of serenity this staircase here provides D:
hmm this bridge is more.. chinese. or rather asian-ish.. which fits the origins of the 奈何桥 in the first place.. this is really peaceful like the stairway to heaven thing.. just in a different way. its interesting to see the different ways the 奈何桥 is represented ^^ not really much that i see that i can do about this picture really.. this is still more suitable for a painting than a sculpture.. :/
this is rather different from the other two o-o its more serene as well but in a different way. [why do i keep saying this ==] but i like how you can't see the end of the bridge cuz its shrouded in mist. it gives the air of mystery and the feeling that in order to know what's there you have to go there yourself :D i also like the tree trunk thingy growing right out of the bridge. it gives a feeling of solidarity as though its a person walking into the unknown~~ which sort of ties in with my idea i guess cause i wanted to use trees to represent people [partly because i really can't make people. properly.] but its not like i can make mist appear in my sculpture either :|
this one is my favourite :D it's idea is the same as the 奈何桥 but its idea is really different ^^ its like expressing the 奈何桥 as a portal instead of an actual bridge which in my opinion is really really cool :D the girl can see a slight glimpse of the world she has chosen to reenter but not much creating an air of suspense. she is also alone in a vast landscape as though showing that her decision was not an easy one but she has to face it herself. cool ^^

project one.
this picture reminds me of the tree of life! [somehow.] the box is supposed to be pandora's box releasing all the pain and sorrow and sufferings of the world etc.. but the bad evil stuff kinda looks like a tree which is making me think of all the stories of the tree of life and stuff i've been reading lately.. @_@ [what sort of an irony is this o-o]
tis is cool :D i wanna make a tree growing out of a box now :D since all the evils have escaped, only hope is left inside :D the tree of life is a nice expression for the hope that grew over time ^^ ooh~ i could maybe like add a golden apple growing out of the tree :D so cool ^^
